When considering the potentially significant investment into having my front garden and driveway transformed and modernised, I decided to obtain several quotes for the work. Of the seven quotes I received, the one from Hinchliffe Surfacing stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Not on price, but on overall value for money, with Dan's detailed engineering approach to his trade, along with his in-depth explanation of all aspects of his methodology. As a retired engineer myself, I really appreciated this, along with his ability to provide immediate, fully logical answers all my questions, both technical and general. It was apparent that his goal was to provide his clients with a top class driveway installation. It gave me great confidence in the technical competence of Hinchliffe Surfacing, and I engaged the company to carry out the works. Dan was true to his word. I took a keen interest in the project execution from day one, and indeed, their corporate strap line 'STRUCURE FIRST, SURFACE SECOND' was clearly not just rhetoric. It was fully implemented. They created an extremely sound, compacted substructure in preparation for the resin bound surfacing to go down. Outside the control of Dan and his team, there was a technical issue during the resin laying process, which could have been problematic, however, Dan was able to resolve it by drawing on the specialist expertise within the resin manufacturer. Overall I am delighted with my new driveway, and am more than happy to recommend Hinchliffe Surfacing.

Dan came out to provide a quote for upgrading our existing driveway. We were very impressed from the first point of contact, we were extremely impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and approach. Dan was very informative, happy to discuss the different options available tarmac or resin, and clearly explained the pros and cons of each giving us complete confidence in understanding what was included. His professionalism and knowledge was excellent, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dan to anyone considering a new driveway.

Excellent service from Daniel. No complaints whatsoever. He explained everything in detail as to why and how things were done. Such thorough groundwork carried out. Always cleared after a days work. Nothing negative to say.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

Which surface suits my property?+

It depends on how the drive is used, its levels, drainage and the look you want. We'll talk through resin, tarmac and block paving at the assessment.

What affects the investment?+

Area, existing construction, excavation and waste, drainage, edging, access and the chosen surface. Your proposal sets these out clearly.

What happens at the assessment?+

We measure the area, check levels, thresholds, drainage and access, and note anything that needs further investigation.

How is drainage considered?+

We look at where water goes now and where it should go, including permeable options. Where ground conditions are unknown, we say so and recommend checks.

What happens after the proposal?+

You can ask questions or request changes. Nothing is booked until you accept a specific version and a start slot is agreed.

What guarantees apply?+

Applicable guarantee and product-warranty terms are written into your proposal, so you know exactly what's covered.
