FAQs

Questions we're often asked.

Straight answers on assessments, construction, quotes and aftercare. If yours isn't here, give us a call.

Site assessments

Is the site assessment a booked appointment?+

Not until we've spoken and agreed a time. Your online request starts that conversation.

What happens at the assessment?+

We measure, check levels, the existing surface, edges, access and where water will go, and show you samples.

Will I get a price on the day?+

Usually not. We prepare a written proposal afterwards so the scope and price are properly worked out.

Construction

Why does the base matter so much?+

The surface is only as good as what's underneath. Most failures we see start with a base that was too thin or poorly compacted.

Can you lay over my existing drive?+

Sometimes. Only if the existing base is sound and the levels work. We check before recommending an overlay.

What about drainage?+

Water has to go somewhere. Your proposal says where, whether that's through a permeable build-up, to a soakaway or to a drain.

Do I need planning permission?+

Some front-garden surfaces need it, depending on size, permeability and drainage. We'll flag it, but please confirm with your council.

Quotes & payments

Is an estimate the same as a quote?+

No. An indicative estimate is a guide. A fixed quotation follows your site assessment and sets out the exact scope.

How are payments staged?+

Your proposal lists each stage, its amount and what triggers it. Nothing is ever described as non-refundable by default.

What if something changes on site?+

We agree any variation in writing, with its price and effect on the programme, before doing the work.

After the work

How do I look after my new drive?+

See our aftercare page. Care depends on the surface and the manufacturer's guidance for the materials used.

Is there a guarantee?+

Guarantee terms are set out in your proposal. We don't publish general guarantee wording until it's approved.
